About College:

SRIRAM EDUCATIONAL TRUST founded in 1983 has its prime objective of promoting higher and technical education .It has, during the last two and half decades developed into a leading provider of quality education from KG to PG. It is further growing in academic stature with well established educational institutes viz., SRIRAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE,SRIRAM COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCE,SRIRAM POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE,SRIRAM INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT and SRIRAM VIDHYA MANDIR MARTICULATION HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL . Fortified with the state-of-art infrastructure facilities, it has highly qualified and dedicated faculty members with specialization in the field of engineering, technology, science & humanities, social service and business management.

To mark the silver jubilee of the establishment of Sriram Educational Trust, the late Thiru.M.E.Devarajan, Founder Chairman, envisaged a programme in 2007 to establish new educational institutes viz., Arts & Science college for women, Polytechnic college and a Higher Secondary school, in its own extensive lands of about 108 grounds, situated at Vyasarpadi to cater to the needs of students desiring to pursue higher academic and professional courses of studies. The board of trustees under the distinguished chairpersonship of Dr.V.Vasanthi Devi has taken upon itself the ardent task of fulfilling the noble vision of the late Thiru.M.E.Devarajan, and has drawn out extensive schemes of constructing new buildings. When his dream is realized it would incorporate all the ingredients of a model institution located in North Madras - a unique vision indeed! The proposed colleges will be affiliated to the University of Madras, and also approved by DOTE, UGC and AICTE, New Delhi.

About Department:

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1993 with a total of 247 students. We are having three spacious class rooms, one seminar hall, 3 faculty rooms, a separate department library and seven well equipped laboratories. The strength of our department stems from its dedicated and committed faculties with an unparallel and genuine concern for students. They also provide great inspiration and motivation to the students. Our department has a team of well qualified and experienced faculty members with 3 Assistant Professors. 

In order to develop the team spirit and co-curricular activities of the students we have started the “mech Association” and it has been inaugurated every year. Guest lectures are organized frequently by eminent professors, scientists, and experts from various industries and educational institutions. In order to develop the innovative technical skills in the students of various fields we conduct a technical symposium in the month of September every year. 

A National level Technical Symposium organised by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of Sriram Engineering College associated with the managing trustees and co-sponser.The word "Tesyee" coined by Technical Symposium for EE.
